A SRAM or Quarq power meter that drains a battery in under 30 days is considered irregular. This can be caused by an electrical short in the circuit board of the power meter. As a result, there is significant draw on the battery when it is installed.
There are a few different troubleshooting steps that can be taken if you are having this issue:
- If you have a spider based power meter, please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined in the troubleshooting guide.
- For a spindle based power meter, remove your battery and leave it out overnight. Ensure you are using a non-rechargeable lithium battery.
If you are still experiencing battery drain after following the troubleshooting steps, please contact Quarq Customer Service.
